I’m sorry but I refuse to spend 3 hours of my day acting, dancing, filming and editing a Reel.
There. I said it. 🤭
For the past 5 years, I’ve worn many hats in my business - becoming a part-time actor/producer is not going to be one of them.
Yes, Reels are trending right now.
But this isn’t the first IG trend - and it won’t be the last.
In 2018 it was “side by side” posts.
In 2019 it was “Instagram vs Reality”.
In every phase, there were some accounts that EXPLODED (including some of my amazing clients).
❌ But there were also business owners who didn’t jump on those trends.
❌ Who didn’t grow to 100.000 followers.
🙌 But who DID celebrate record-breaking years.
See, more views, more reach, and more followers alone won’t necessarily make you more profitable.
Especially if you spend your days doing tasks you DON’T enjoy!
What you need is a SUSTAINABLE strategy.
A way to:
✔️ Grow your audience (this could be through any social media platform, speaking, podcasting, or even paid ads)
✔️ Build know, like, and trust (by creating content and emails that position you as an expert)
✔️ Create curiosity and desire about your offers (by talking about them and by sharing success stories and reviews = social proof)
✔️ Make an invitation to buy (if you don’t, they’ll likely buy from your competitor)
I've made it my mission to help you create the easiest Reels (without complicated transitions).
So on that note, here are 5 super easy Reel ideas and trends (that won’t require dancing!)
1. The Quote Reel: This is a super easy Reels trend I've been playing around with (I call this "the lazy Reel" ) - all you need is:
A video (you can use stock videos from Canva if you're not great at shooting them yourself)
An inspiring quote
A trending song/audio
2. The TTT (Teaching Through Text) Reel: This Instagram Reel idea (created by @holisticbizguide) requires:
A video (or photos) of you - you can either create this right inside the Instagram App or in my new favorite editing app called VN (its free)
Text overlay of a tip/affirmation
A trending song/audio
3. The Original Audio Reel: This Instagram Reel trend (created by @jocelyne_pare) is amazing for positioning yourself as an expert in your field. All you need is:
A collage of videos & photos of you - again, create this using the free VN app or inside Instagram
An audio recording of your voice
Optional: A background song/audio
Check out this video to learn how to add a voiceover to your Reel and how to manage the volume of your voiceover and background song/audio.
4. The Collage Reel: This is one of my favorite Reel trends, the many quick transitions between photos/videos (and using transitioning effects such as the “zoom effect” inside the VN editing app) draw the viewer in and make them want to watch the Reel over and over again (longer view time means the algorithm thinks your content is engaging and IG will therefore push the Reel out to more people giving you more reach.
What you need:
A collage of videos & photos of you - again, create this using the free VN app or inside Instagram
A trending audio or song
5. The Mini Vlog Reel: This Instagram Reel video (created by @highmoonstudio) lets your audience get to know you by getting a behind-the-scenes impression of what happens in your daily life. How to create this:
A collage of videos & photos of you - again, create this using the free VN app or inside Instagram
A trending audio or song
Not sure how to identify a “trending audio or song”?
There are two ways:
Watch Reels on your “Reels Explore Feed” (yep, it’s that’ simple). You’ll notice that Instagram is showing you many Reels that have the same song/audio. By paying attention to what Instagram is “pushing”, you can identify a trending audio/song.
When you’re scrolling through Reels on Instagram, you will notice that Instagram will present you with “suggested audios” like below:
